 Is the time right to start my business?

We all ask that question whenever we start on any project or venture. I have found that the best time is now. Who knows what the future may bring. You can never be sure if you think you need to know all the outcomes and strategies before starting.  

You can suffer from "paralysis by analysis." I have found most successful folks ran by the fire, ready, aim principle. Entrepreneurs need a "Damn the torpedoes full speed ahead" mentality. They threw caution to the wind and set sail. 

Suppose you want a guidebook, use: Sun Tsu's Art of War. It has strategies on when and where to plan out a war (venture) that are timeless truisms. Read the book of Proverbs in the Bible. 

Regardless of how much research you do, mice and men's best-laid plans often go awry, to paraphrase Robert Lewis Stephenson's famous words.

Ships in the harbor are safe, but that's not what ships are for.

So my advice is to do a reasonable amount of preparation and planning, then pull the trigger and shoot!

Baby it's cold outside

 

Even that title of my blog taken from a song from the '50s has caused a political issue.

My new home (Kansas City, MO) and my old hometown (Arlington, TX)  are in single-digit temperatures and covered in snow. So much for global warming. Global warming has been changed to climate change when the science and the political narrative didn't match up.

My topic for this article is that science, politics, media, and education must stay in their lanes. We have seen with COVID that these lanes get blurred, mixed up, and conflated. Although at some point they are necessary for each other, they also need to see the lines of intersection where one area can co-opt and even corrupt the other. 

The topic of the weather and what we can do about it is much too broad to cover here. But my view from here is that the overlap is tied too much to money and politics. When one side uses the media, science, and education to push a particular political position, corruption erupts in all the arenas, as mentioned earlier. The overlap is ripe for manipulation. 

Can we ascertain the truth? Can we keep the partisan interests from cross-pollination? I don't see how unless a bi-partisan grassroots effort can impact all of these groups' income to the point they operate independently.

Are we going to unite?

 Bruce Springsteen shows up in a Super Bowl commercial that aligned big corporate America (Jeep),  politics, and entertainment to persuade middle America to unite. This same guy made no effort to unite the country before. In fact, he did the exact opposite. the last four years throwing out vehement rhetoric and spewing hate. This commercial had hypocrisy and self-righteous virtue-signaling all over it.

Who do you trust?

 Watching the Gamestop stock manipulation last week, I wondered if we are this vulnerable to viruses and money manipulators. Are the measures to protect us worse than the threats? 

Already lockdowns, masks, and vaccines are causing political and social upheaval; what's going to trigger the complete loss of confidence in our institutions? 

Polls show low trust in the media, Congress, and big tech. Science is confused and run by so-called scientists/activists. 

No wonder conspiracy theories abound. 

Who's in charge? 

I know that the Lord Jesus Christ has this. I wonder how you trust?
